Rachel Taggart joined Collective Water Resources in August 2024. She has been devoting her career to water resources since 2017. Her experience includes hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, watershed management planning, flood hazard risk assessment, floodplain mapping, wetland restoration, capital improvement projects, dam breach analysis, water quality modeling, and GIS analyses. Rachel’s projects have been predominantly in Florida, but she also has worked on projects in North Carolina, Georgia, and Ohio. Rachel enjoys exploring new challenges and finding water sustainability solutions in a changing climate.

Rachel received her Bachelor of Environmental Engineering in Taiwan before earning her Master of Environmental Engineering at the University of Florida. After graduating from UF, she has had the opportunity to serve municipalities, private sector, several Florida water management districts, and the Florida Department of Transportation. She currently holds a position on the Outreach Committee for the American Water Resources Association (AWRA) – Florida Section and serves on the Education Committee for the Florida Stormwater Association.

Additionally, she is also the 2024 recipient of AWRA’s A. Ivan Johnson Award. She not only has a strong enthusiasm for improving environmental concerns related to water and implementing flood control measures to support sustainable water resources management practices, but she also is committed to her involvement in professional organizations and community outreach.

Rachel enjoys traveling, kayaking, hiking, painting, gardening, and spending time with her friends, family, and the family dog.
